2022 Hollard Calendar | A Better Me
Our objective was to create a calendar range that would be rolled out across multiple elements in digital and print media and exploring interactive ways of engagement with the content. Our target audience included Hollard business partners, brokers & Hollardites in South Africa & across Africa.
Inspired by the Hollard brand message of Better Future. 2022 is the year of being more mindful of our wellness, and taking better care of ourselves so that, ultimately, we can take care of others.
Recent times have given us a genuine appreciation for the things that we may have taken for granted before. One of the biggest lessons that we’ve learned is that the only way to make it through is together.
Here’s the thing: sometimes we forget to look after ourselves as we focus on our responsibilities, our communities and loved ones. It’s like when you’re on an aeroplane, and they remind you that in the event of an emergency, you must secure your own oxygen mask first before you help anyone else – because if you aren’t coping, you’re no good to anyone else.
That’s why we declared 2022 as “The year of me!”. Commiting to a year of being more mindful of our wellness, and let’s take better care of ourselves so that, ultimately, we can take care of others.
The 2022 calendar is a handy reminder to manifest the future you want, create more, learn new things and move your body like never before, with fun activities to help you dive deeper into each theme.
Our Objectives
Here’s how we made a positive and tangible impact through the 2022 calendar:
1. Identify important causes and concerns related to mental health.
2. Inform our audience how they can achieve mindfulness
3. Inspire audience of this content to participate in monthly activities that can inspire them to lead happier, healthier lives.
4. Imagine a brighter world, working towards a better future for all through self-care and mindfulness.

We collaborated with YayAbe (Russell Abrahams) to capture the themes for each month.
A cover design was created that combined all the monthly themes
into one design setting the tone for the year ahead.

The BetterMe Microsite
A microsite was developed that offers users a different platform to access all the content for the monthly themes and activities. This allows users who do not have all the items of the calendar
an opportunity to access the content. The user could also either be directed to the BetterMe micrositeor websites expanding on each activity through the use of a QR code.

A QR code was also placed on all public holidays for Africa and South Africa. These can be
scanned and automatically added to your Outlook calendar.

Social media, public holiday & special day mailers
We treat our calendar projects as integrated campaigns to fully leverage the yearly theme, BetterMe. Content that speaks to the monthly themes is created and shared across various platforms like internal communications and social media.
We collaborated with VMLY&R who brought our creative alive in Social Media
